Special Early Morning Prayer in 2026

Every year our church starts with a special early morning prayer meeting. This year, COAH will start our new year early morning prayer meeting on January 2nd, and it will continue until January 9th. We will meet in the Agape Chapel at 6 a.m. but on Saturday (January 3rd) we will meet at regular time at 7 a.m. I know it feels like a challenge to wake up extra early to attend, but when you do come and pray, you will be blessed. The special EMP is a good way to start the year focusing on prayer. During our EMP there will be a short devotional from Psalm 119.

Psalm 119 is the longest psalm and the longest chapter in the Bible with 176 verses. It is divided into 22 stanzas (with eight verses each), and each stanza begins with a successive letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The purpose of Psalm 119 is to celebrate God’s word and instruction to his people. Our hope is that by focusing on Psalm 119, it will encourage all of us to read and study God’s Word in 2026. If you haven’t decided on our Bible reading plan before the new year starts, find one and commit to a reading plan (here is a link to an past pastoral letter about Bible reading plans https://www.coahtoronto.com/blog/2025/11/21). After the short devotional, there will be a time to pray.

This year, we brought back prayer cards for our Special EMP, and we will have them again for 2026. In the prayer cards, you can list your prayer requests, and people attending the EMP will pray for you and write a short encouraging response on the back of the prayer cards that they prayed for you. The prayer cards will be returned to you after January 9th. Prayer cards will be available at the welcome desk (starting Sunday) and you can drop them off in the prayer box at the welcome desk (until January 4th). So came to pray for others and for yourself, so much prayer is needed in the world, and all of us can benefit from praying.

It would be great to start the new year in prayer and being committed to reading God’s Word.

 In Christ,

 Pastor Kyu
