Cambodia Men of Faith
By the time you receive this letter, our Cambodia Men of Faith team will be on route to Cambodia to join our brothers from KM. When this whole process began and it was decided that we would do a joint short term missions trip, I didn’t know what to expect. To be honest, I still don’t. But one thing that I am being reminded of is that God has been there, continues to be there, and will always be there working for His purpose and will.
The last time I went was back in 2019. That was before COVID and the pandemic! I am personally excited to see what God has been doing these past years. The 25 men on our team are going to be a blessing to the workers in this harvest field as well as the Cambodian people. And the way we will be a blessing is to clean, dig, build, renovate, and repair the facilities and property. And I hope that the character and attitude of our team will also encourage and model Christ to those we encounter.
Our team has been talking about our expectations as many are going on short term missions for the first time. We’ve also been talking about the importance of flexibility and being open to do what is asked of us. But more than that, I hope that our eyes and hearts would be open to see God and His heart for Cambodia. And that’s not just for our team; it’s for every one of us. Whether you are going, sending, giving, or praying, we are all part of God’s plan and mission for the nations. As the time has come for us to go, I’ve been meditating on verses such as these:
Matthew 28:19-20 - 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Acts 1:8 - 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Romans 10:14-15 - 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
John 17:18-21 - 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself,[a] that they also may be sanctified in truth. 20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
Please pray for the salvation of the people of Cambodia; that they may know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Pray for our team’s physical and spiritual health; that no one will get hurt or injured but also that we can be salt and light there. And finally, pray for the workers in this harvest field; that the Lord will strengthen them and use them for His kingdom purposes.
Excited to come back and share what we saw and experienced! See you in a week COAH!
With Blessings,
Pastor Tim
