Reading List

Recently, one of our COAH members asked me if Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan was worth reading. To which I replied, “that every Christian should read it as least once.” He suggested I create a must-read list for the congregation. So, here are my top ten general Christian books to read (in no particular order):

  1. Knowing God (J.I. Packer)

  2. Pilgrim’s Progress (John Bunyan)

  3. Reason for God (Timothy Keller)

  4. Desiring God (John Piper), I would also suggest The Pleasures of God & Future Grace).

  5. Basic Christianity (John Stott) or Mere Christianity (C.S. Lewis)

  6. The Holiness of God (R.C. Sproul)

  7. Pursuit of God (A.W. Tozer)

  8. The Cost of Discipleship (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)

  9. Francis Schaeffer Trilogy (Okay, actually three books)

  10. The God Who is There

  11. Escape from Reason

  12. He is There and He is Not Silent

  13. Celebration of Discipline (Richard J. Foster)

Any of these books might be a great summer read. If you haven’t read Knowing God, I highly recommend COAH’s book of the year and joining us in October for Wednesday in Word.

Blessings,

Pastor Kyu
