Global Missions

Our church is dedicated to global missions. It is at the centre of what we are doing as a church. We believe that our God is a missionary God and that the church exists to do missions.

Global Serving Opportunities

Our church offers three types of missions opportunities: short term (2-3 weeks), mid term (3 months to one year), and long term.

Short-term (2-3 weeks)

Being a part of a short-term mission trip can be one of the most challenging and fulfilling things you will ever do. Our church believes that Short-Term Missions consists of three purposes:

  1. To support Long-Term Missionaries in the field.

  2. For your personal discipleship and growth: God uses these opportunities to reveal more of Himself and His heart for the nations. Short Term Missions provides a way to deepen your relationship and intimacy with God and with the people you encounter.

  3. For possible future calling into Long-Term Missions: Our church exists to preach, teach, equip, and send out workers in God’s harvest field. We believe that by going on Short-Term Missions, God can place in your heart an openness to do His work wherever He calls.

Every year the church sends short term teams to Mexico, Kyrgyzstan, India, Cambodia.

Prerequisites include:

  • Must be signed member of City On A Hill Ministry for at least one year

  • Must have completed Discipleship 1 class

  • Complete application form

The Benefits of Short-Term Missions

  • Expose you to peoples of a different culture

  • See up close and personal the life of a missionary

  • Learn some new skills and gain new experiences (e.g. construction, teaching)

  • Stretch your faith as God uses you in ways you never imagined.

  • Increase your burden for, and grow in your support of missions and missionaries.

  • Learn, first hand, the plan God has for the world.

  • Form life bonds with fellow team members and nationals.

Please prayerfully consider going. If you are a church member and would like to participate in a church sponsored short-term mission trip to one of the locations above, contact us.

Mid-term (3-12 months)

Mid-term missions is an opportunity for volunteers to serve at Living Fountain (LF) for an extended period of time without being part of a team. You are committed to train and prepare on your own, and your role at LF is to serve by connecting your God-given gifts with the various needs at LF.

Why Mid-Term Missions?

“Global missions is your training field.” This is the first thing you will hear when you land in Cambodia. We want volunteers to truly learn what it means to be missional by going on mission trips so that we can be missions-minded wherever we go. By being on the mission field for a longer period of time, it truly opens up the window to learn more about the nature of missions, the unique challenges of LF and Cambodia, and connect with missionaries abroad. These experiences reveal more of God’s character, deepens your personal walk with Him, and challenges you to be more missional when you return home. You may be over there to teach, but it is more likely you will come back having learned much more.

Prerequisites include:

  • Must be signed member of City On A Hill Ministry for at least one year

  • Must have completed Discipleship 1 class

  • Complete application form

Thinking of going?

Start praying about it. Ask God to open the doors, grow a heart for the country of Cambodia, and get connected. Talk to former volunteers and previous short-term teams. Listen to their stories and experiences; ask them to pray for you. We are so blessed to able to send teams and volunteers to partake in the various ministries at LF. Be a vessel of Christ’s love to the Kingdom of Cambodia! For more information, please contact us.

Long-Term

We support various people in the regions of Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, India, Cambodia and South East Asia. Due to security reasons we cannot share names, exact locations, and nature of our work with partners.

If you wish to consider becoming a career missionary, please consult one of the pastoral staff. If you have any other questions, please contact the church and we will direct you to the missions committee for immediate assistance.
